Scheduled from April, 2002 till March, 2004, the project aimed to create and establish a common technical, operational and business framework for a paneuropean deployment of OSGi-based telematics platforms and services. This has been achieved by developing a draft architecture and common interface specifications for OSGi-based telematics, by implementing, testing and validating the architecture and specifications at several test sites across Europe seeking full interoperability, and by finalizing and publishing the architecture and specifications as an open, de facto standard. The project will allow to reinforce Europe's position in the Telematic industry, as well as to achieve maximum synergy effects and economies of scale when deploying OSGi-based platforms.
Key partners included BMW, DaimlerChrysler, Fiat, Opel, PSA, Volvo, Bosch, Magneti Marelli, Siemens VDO Automotive, Deutsche Telekom, OnStar, Wireless Car, BMW, Mizar, OnStar, Acunia, Ericsson, etc... The project was lead by ERTICO.
