EGERIS

The objective of EGERIS was to provide Civil Protection organizations, and national or regional authorities concerned with emergency management, with the most recent ICT developments to support them in their risk-based on-field emergency operations.
EGERIS was scheduled from September 01 till August 03.
The major goals and objectives of the EGERIS architecture were to ensure:
- Alignment of the requirements for the EGERIS information system with the operational procedures that support emergency workers missions.
- Broader and federating approach to enable scalability/replicability and interoperability at network and application levels.
- Adequate performance, reliability and security.
- Application of a collection of standards warranting operational interoperability (voice and data), investments durability and enabling integration with legacy systems (interface with current applications and public/private networks.)
The project was lead by EADS.
