Overview of Technology
The features and benefits of the SmartZone Geospatial Platform result from the original design and development of an architecture which supports a scalable high performance platform with the maximum reliability and availability on the market. Geospatial functionality is delivered by the resulting SGP via standards based APIs enabling intelligent and compelling application development. Critical to the support of accurate location based functionalities is the integration of the highest quality content available, and the development of integration tools and processes to enable rapid turn around as new data releases become available.

The Webraska SmartZone Geospatial Platform has been developed with an objective of significantly maximizing speed, robustness, scalability, and cost reduction
The development of all services to be OpenLS compliant was also a major objective, fully achieved in the latest version.

APIs
Applications access the SmartZone Geospatial Platform extensive functionality through one of the available APIs. These are HTTP/GET, SOAP or Java SDK. The full functionalities of SGP are available via SOAP and Java. The focus of the SmartZone Geospatial Platform's development interfaces, is to enable developers to access the core geospatial functionality it provides in a manner that allows creation of applications that satisfy user requirements. The Java SDK provides everything required to build such applications including request, response, and client objects, for all possible remote interactions in SOAP. The Java SDK includes JavaDoc, and extensive Service User Guides provide detailed information on the Webraska configuration and implementation details.

Datasets
Datasets are a key component when building navigation and other location-based services. Quality and accuracy directly influence the user's satisfaction when experiencing the service. Webraska uses Navigation Technologies map and point-of-interest data as standard datasets for major European countries and North America. Alternative geographical data suppliers have been integrated for support in many countries including Norway, Mexico, Brazil, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Australia, and Japan.
