Enabling Technology

SmartZone Applications are built on the SmartZone Application Framework which enables seamless integration across Webraska's standard and customized applications. The individual applications may be deployed individually, but the power lies in the integration which is handled centrally by the SmartZone Application Framework.

The SmartZone Application Framework provides integration capabilities for provisioning and contextual relevance that simplify the construction of location-based services. It optimizes output for multiple interfaces, browsers and devices and provides an interface to support SMS, MMS and email services. The framework has plug-ins to interface with location servers from various providers. The framework also contains transaction logging to facilitate billing and enable usage analysis of all services through a web-based reporting interface.

The SmartZone Application Framework accesses services within Webraska's SmartZone Geospatial Platform (routing, mapping, geo-coding, reverse geo-coding) in order to provide easy-to-read text-based directions and map displays.
